CHDO Technical Assistance
RCAC provides technical assistance to Community Housing Development Organizations (CHDOs) recognized by the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development (HUD) in 10 western states, including Alaska, California, Colorado, Hawaii, Montana, Nevada, Oregon, Utah, Washington and Wyoming. Under a HUD contract, RCAC provides CHDOs with technical assistance in the form of training, direct technical assistance services and passthrough funds.
RCAC provides training in the areas of housing development, project feasibility, real estate finance, housing management, resident ownership, board training, business and strategic planning and environmental review. Direct technical assistance is HOME-project focused and involves assisting a CHDO to determine feasibility, identify and acquire financing, secure construction services, develop housing and complete appropriate post-construction processes.
