Senator Max Baucus stated the White House Rural Council should help employers hire workers and grow their businesses.
Senator Max Baucus of Montana recently stated he approves of the intentions of the recently formed White House Rural Council (WHRC), saying it should create jobs for rural residents and help businesses grow.
In support of the WHRC's goals, Baucus is working to get his Rural Access to Credit legislation approved, which would also assist rural businesses obtain credit to hire workers and develop economically.
Additionally, Baucus is urging U.S. Department of Agriculture Secretary Tom Vilsack to bring the WHRC to Montana to see the issues facing Montana business owners and workers.
"Rural communities are vital to the American economy — our small business owners create jobs that support families, our farmers and ranchers grow food that feeds the world and our work ethic is second to none," said Baucus. "Investing in rural jobs will yield big returns for the entire American economy and it's good to see Washington finally taking notice."
Many state businesses have requested greater access to high-speed internet, stating it would substantially help their companies work more efficiently and grow more rapidly.
