The Summit Daily reports nonprofit organizations and social service groups in Summit County, Colorado, have been working together to ensure services offered to rural residents in the area aren't duplicated.

According to the paper, county officials have been helping these groups ensure there's no overlap between local organizations by determining how often they communicate with one another and what each group's goals are.

The concern about having similar-purpose nonprofit organizations is the main reason why the Community Accessing Resources Effectively (CARE) Council was created, the paper states.

"One of the best things about Summit County is that there are no overlaps," Family Intercultural & Resource Center executive director and CARE representative Tamara Drangstveit told the newspaper. "The nonprofit community and the social service community work incredibly hard to make sure we're not duplicating services, but that we're building infrastructure where we need it. There's a lot of collaboration here."

Sarah Vaine, executive director of the Summit Community Care Clinic, told the paper CARE also helps those who wish to provide funds to nonprofit organizations in the county ensure their money is going to the proper group.

Some of the focuses of nonprofit organizations working in Summit County include supporting food banks, providing aid to seniors and improving healthcare access.
