Keep Your Home California has grown 500 percent since it began in early 2011.
The California Housing Finance Agency (CHFA) announced its Keep Your Home California program has increased in size by 500 percent since it began in February 2011.
More than 50 mortgage servicers statewide are participating in the program, which helps homeowners in urban and rural areas throughout the state with mortgage and homeowner assistance.
The CHFA's Executive Director, Claudia Cappio, stated that she is happy many servicers are partaking in the program, but wants even more to become involved.
"Adding servicers is critical for our effort to help financially strapped families in the state," said Cappio. "We're pleased that more servicers are joining the effort, and we would like to see even more companies helping families to avoid foreclosure and remain in their homes."
Specific
housing assistance provided to California homeowners through the initiative include various programs related to unemployment aid, mortgage reinstatement and principal reduction.
