Rebuilding Together Southern Nevada (RTSNV) has received $50,000 from Wells Fargo's Neighborhood LIFT Program, the proceeds of which will go toward providing renovations and repairs to homes owned by low-income residents.

RTSNV, which provides free renovation and repair services to low-income, elderly, disabled or veteran residents, said the award will help it continue promoting affordable homeownership to the most vulnerable residents in the southern Nevada region.

The Neighborhood LIFT program operated by Wells Fargo provides down payment assistance programs to spark homeownership, extends purchase loans and provides educational programs to potential home buyers to help attract more interest in the housing market.

"We take great pride in our role to help rebuild communities throughout Southern Nevada," said Cynthia Baca, Executive Director of RTSNV. "We commend Wells Fargo, and are happy to support their effort to stabilize communities with this grant."

Many federal agencies provide affordable housing assistance programs tied to purchasing a home, finding affordable rental units or educating homeowners and mortgage providers on their rights and responsibilities. However, there are fewer programs available that address other housing-related costs that can make homeownership challenging, such as covering the expenses of repairs and renovations.
