WaterSense, a U.S. Environmental Protection Agency partnership program promotes Fix a leak week, which occurs March 14-20, 2011. WaterSense partners across the country educate students, and encourage residents and homeowners to find and fix household leaks, thereby prolonging clean water availability and efficiency. Funding opportunities

Wells Fargo accepts applications for its homeownership grant program on an ongoing basis. The awards are for nonprofit organizations to assist low- to moderate income people with sustainable homeownership opportunities. Wells Fargo makes grants for construction and rehab, education, counseling and prevention, subsidies and home repairs. Read more>>

The U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development has dedicated $35 million to the new Capital Fund Education & Training Community Facilities Program to develop facilities to provide early childhood education, adult education or job training. The funds will be awarded competitively with applications due January 11, 2011. While the facilities are principally for public housing residents, families in the larger community may use and benefit from their services. The maximum grant award is capped at $5 million. Applicants must identify outside financial commitments equal to at least 5 percent of the grant and must also identify at least one education or training service provider that will partner with them. Access more information at Grants.gov

The U.S. Department of Agriculture (USDA) Rural Development is now accepting applications for loans to rehabilitate multi-family housing in rural communities. Applications are due January 10, 2011. Priority will be given to entities that have equal or greater matching funds from third parties, and entities with experience administering revolving loan funds and preserving multi-family housing. USDA Rural Development plans to make more than $14 million available under this notice. Loans will be for 30 years at 1 percent interest. Read more  >>
