Americans are living longer; the nation’s elderly population is increasing and Hawaii is not escaping the trend.
The Anderson Valley Community Health Center (AVCHC) announced that it received the internationally recognized U.S. Green Building Council LEED® Gold certification award. AVCHC is the first center in California to receive this honor.
In the first quarter of 2009, the CDFI Assessment and Rating System (CARS) added seven CDFIs to list of 46 that it has analyzed, and it hopes to rate an additional 23 by year's end.
On June 17, Chairman Ben S. Bernanke, Board of Governors of the Federal Reserve System, delivered a speech at the Global Financial Literacy Summit in Washington, D.C. in which he urged listeners to consider the valuable contributions provided by community development organizations and CDFIs.
