RCAC leadership shifts

February 18, 2011

West Sacramento, Calif. — After a little more than a year on temporary special assignment, where he served as project manager leading the conversion of RCAC’s Loan Fund software, Kevin McCumber returned to his position as Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC) chief financial officer (CFO) on January 31.

Acting CFO David Ebenezer returns to his previous role as controller. Nimi La Roche, who served as acting controller, will now head up the team upgrading RCAC’s accounting software and accomplishing a major objective in RCAC’s current strategic plan.

Upgrading the systems was a major project with substantial design elements that required a great deal of attention and oversight. McCumber’s inside knowledge of the corporate requirements and systems has been vital as the organization moves to the new software.

“They all did a wonderful job in their temporary assignments, and it is great to have Kevin and David back in their regular assignments with Nimi as a key team member,” said Stanley Keasling, RCAC chief executive officer.

Founded in 1978, RCAC provides a wide range of community development services for rural and Native American communities, agricultural workers and community-based organizations in 13 western states. RCAC’s core services and expertise are in housing, environmental infrastructure (water, wastewater and solid waste), leadership training, economic development and financing.

RCAC created its Loan Fund in 1988 and was later certified as a CDFI. The Loan Fund provides low-interest loans for affordable housing, community facilities, water and wastewater systems and more. Today, the RCAC Loan Fund is capitalized at $70 million.
