. — Linda Petta, recently was honored for 15 years of service to Rural Community Assistance Corporation (RCAC), a nonprofit organization that aides rural and tribal communities through training, technical assistance and financing.
Petta received a plaque from RCAC CEO William French amid hearty applause from nearly 120 colleagues during RCAC’s annual “Office Week” held Sept. 12 – 16 at the Red Lion Inn located near the organization’s headquarters in West Sacramento, Calif.
Office Week each year brings together all employees from the group’s various offices located in 13 western states, including Alaska and Hawaii. During the event, employees, officials and board members participate in skill-building and informational workshops while also evaluating RCAC’s accomplishments during the prior year and setting goals for the future.
“Linda is a perfect example of the kind of outstanding employee who consistently goes above and beyond the call of duty in order to help RCAC accomplish its goals,” said French when presenting the award. “We are very proud to have Linda working with our organization.”
Petta, holds a degree from Cannon’s Business College. She has a certificate in Meeting Planning from California State University, Sacramento and holds the designation of Certified Meeting Professional. Petta serves as RCAC’s conference and training events manager. She and her husband, Victor, now make their home in Sacramento. The couple have two grown children, Ryan, 30, and Malia, 27. Ryan has a one-year-old daughter, Elise.
Headquartered in West Sacramento, California, and serving 13 western states, RCAC is a nonprofit agency providing technical assistance, training and financing to rural communities seeking to develop a wide range of local services including, community facilities, affordable housing and water treatment facilities. In 1996, RCAC was designated a Community Development Financial Institution (CDFI) by the United States Treasury. RCAC maintains offices in Honolulu and in Hilo.
