West Sacramento, Calif. — RCAC is celebrating its 30-year anniversary and to mark the occasion, the organization renamed its corporate office after one of its founders and long-time chief executive officer (CEO), William H. French.

A surprise dedication ceremony took place on Nov. 7 to officially unveil the new building name, which hangs on the entry wall in the organization’s first floor lobby.

French, who officially retired from RCAC in January after 29 years in the CEO position thought he was simply attending an RCAC board and staff function to celebrate the organization’s anniversary. He was completely surprised when RCAC’s current CEO, Stan Keasling announced, "Today we are again recognizing your contributions to the success of the organization by naming the corporate office after you. The foundation that you built, like this building, will endure long into the future."

After the unveiling, French, a University of California at Berkeley alum, joined RCAC’s board members, local managers and staff to celebrate in the newly renamed building.

Founded 30 years ago, RCAC provides a wide range of community development services for rural and Native American communities, agricultural workers and community-based organizations in 13 Western states. RCAC offers expertise in housing, environmental infrastructure (water, wastewater and solid waste), leadership training, economic development and financing. RCAC is a Community Development Financial Institution and operates a $65 million Loan Fund that finances affordable housing, community facilities, and water and wastewater systems.
